Watch..
THE ODYSSEY.

Description: Laffoley's Odyssey is about Paul Laffoley, an obsessive, autistic, self-imposed hermit with far-fetched theories of time travel and the 4th dimension, which he depicts through paintings. Is he a modern-day Da Vinci who is discarded by the mainstream? Or is he just some nut living in a windowless room.

atomic all 8

This is of particular interest to me because I also fell upon the exact same conclusions. In 1998 I had a nervous breakdown in university, and began drawing what I called "atomic configurations". I had minimal exposure to creating atomic models, but found the illustrations turned out as such.

Below are some images I drew in Corel Draw in 1998.

My representation of the 8 dimensions. I also believed time travel was related to a breakthru into the 5th dimension to control the 4th, time.

atomic all 8

This was my representation of a complete system. It follows a simple yin yang philosophy, did I mention I was also into Taoism at the time? When the circle is present, the form is perfect, the structure can be pulled in any direction and it will maintain it's form, when the circle isn't present the form is still strong, but isn't entirely balanced. The energy holding the centre together determines the rigidity of the structure. Today I think, gyroscope.

At the time I was also taking Cognitive Science and I was exposed to what is referred to as the Framing Problem, which is not knowing the correct scope to begin solving a problem. From this and my exposure to set theory I was very interested in parallel universes, or universes that exist within other universes in a cumulative fashion.

atomic planes

Looking at these it brings back memories but I'm not sure what sense to make of it, it's extremely vague creative theory based on constructing the meaning of numbers. But it was interesting to see I wasn't the only one to have documented this. And Paul Laffoley being autistic brings up a lot of questions for me. I have some autistic tendencies either through imitation or something genetic. My brother is diagnosed as fully autistic and he's always drawing numbers. One time when I tried the drug salvia, when my eyes were open it felt like someone smashed a mirror and the room was in broken fragments being reflected back at me, and all the fragments had a number in sequence. When I was stuck in this state, which lasts for 15minutes, I kept repeating the numbers in sequence and couldn't stop.

There is a deeper something I haven't figured out after these 10 years, but this is the first time since I've taken another look at it. Did I mention during this time I was in an awaken state of mediation (aka didn't sleep) for 2 weeks? Mediating such that the body didn't feel hungry, or tired, but fueled on an expansive feeling in your forebrain that you continually feed with breath from your nose. There was also an awesome clarity of thought. I've had small breakthroughs as such, but I attribute a lot of it to the nervous breakdown and all the aikido mediation I had been doing at the time.

That's it for today, don't forget your towel on the 25th! You've had 4.2 days warning!
